Who am I?

I am a bilingual (Spanish/English) artist: a graphic designer with a strong sense of quality, simplicity & clean design. I have an excellent background in print and advertising, including extensive experience in Adobe Photoshop CS5, Illustrator CS5, InDesign CS5, Quark, Flash, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel for both PC and Mac platforms.

Current Position

Team Leader Designer at Applica Consumer Products

October 2008 – Present

I am the Team Leader for the company's Own brands. My team and I are responsible for conceptual and creative branding of new product lines before they hit the market. My primary responsibilities include performing a lead role in the design, improvement and production of packaging; packaging sustainability, developing global brand identity, and helping establish design as both best in category and as a strategic competitive advantage. I am challenged constantly with creating innovative advertising, promotional collateral, brand identity, and corporate messaging. This includes packaging, design style guides & brand guidelines, web design, logo design and print advertising. I provide art direction for photo shoots including the food styling and the product set. I juggle short-turnaround jobs with longer, more complex projects, while maintaining strict production schedules and still managing small team of designers. Some brands that currently showcase some of my work are Black & Decker, George Foreman, Russell Hobbs, Breadman, Juiceman, Clear20, Toastmaster and Littermaid.
